Dispose of organic materials

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation’s Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center allows businesses to dispose of organic materials.

For a tipping fee, commercial businesses can dispose of:

  • Leaves.
  • Grass clippings.
  • Brush.
  • Herbivore manure.
  • Wood chips.

NOTE: Bamboo is not accepted at the Organic Recycling Center. See additional notes on unacceptable materials, below.

April through October:

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Saturdays: 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Closed Sundays.

November through March:

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Closed Saturdays and Sundays.

How

Commercial businesses must complete a registration form to participate in the recycling program.

Registered businesses will receive permits that restrict them to certain roadways for hauling materials.

Businesses need to complete the daily log-in sheet and waiver form.

All disposed materials must be clean and delivered separately.

The following will not be accepted:

  • Bamboo.
  • Plastic bags.
  • Metal.
  • Trash of any kind.

Recycling Center staff has the right to refuse disposal of any materials.
