Trash, recycling & city upkeep

Get a recycling bin

Residential households can pick up a recycling bin at one of the City’s six sanitation convenience centers. Only one bin will be provided per visit. Each residential address can receive two bins per year.

Who

Only Philadelphia residents are eligible for a City-provided recycling bin. Bring a government-issued photo ID with you to prove your residency. If your ID does not have your current address, you should also bring a lease or utility bill.

Cost

The Department of Sanitation provides recycling bins at no cost to the city’s residents.

Where and when

Sanitation convenience centers are open Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Click on a map location or check the table for the address and phone number of the nearest center.

We recommend that you call ahead to ensure availability before you go to pick up a bin.
