The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) provides emergency alerts through the ReadyPhiladelphia website. In addition to emergencies, residents can subscribe for other notifications, like transit and weather alerts and public health and safety issues.

Select your preferred language
Most alerts are available in eleven languages: English, French, Arabic, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Swahili, and American Sign Language. Learn more about language settings in ReadyPhiladelphia’s FAQs.
Pick your alert subscriptions and locations
In addition to emergencies and severe weather, you can subscribe to be notified of:
- City government and court closures.
- SEPTA transit alerts.
- Special event road closures.
- Streets Department service announcements.
- Health, safety, and informational alerts.
You can also add up to five locations to receive alerts specific to your area. For example, sign up to get alerts for emergencies near your home and work addresses.
Choose how to receive alerts
You can receive notifications through:
- Email.
- Text.
- Voicemail.
- Push notifications through the Everbridge app. Android users can get the app on Google Play. Apple users can download the app on the App Store.
