Service overview

You can get free financial counseling at any of the seven Financial Empowerment Centers (FEC) in Philadelphia.

These centers provide financial counseling that is:

  • Free
  • High-quality
  • Personalized (one-on-one)
  • Confidential.

FEC services include:

  • Credit repair
  • Access to affordable and safe checking and savings accounts
  • Home-ownership preparation
  • Retirement saving.

Financial Empowerment Centers are a partnership between the Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity and Clarifi.

Who

Anyone who wants free financial counseling. Counseling sessions are available in English and Spanish. Support in other languages may be available upon request.

Cost

Free. You can book as many sessions as you need, and there is no cost.

How

To schedule an appointment, tell the operator your:

  • Name
  • Phone number or email address
  • Availability for a session.

The financial counselor will tell you what to bring to the appointment. For your first session, you may be asked to bring:

  • Paystubs (at least two months’ worth, if possible)
  • Record of extra income
  • Bills
  • Letters from creditors.
