  • Noise
  • Vibration.

Air Management Services also enforces state and federal regulations regarding air and noise pollution.

Limited hours for construction noise

Construction noise is limited from night through early morning. When construction noise affects residences, it should be no more than five decibels above the background sound level from:

  • 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays.
  • 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekends.

To learn more about the decibel levels of everyday noises, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There are exceptions for emergencies or public works construction, since these limited hours may not be feasible.
