Wellness Ecosystem Initiative

Bringing focus, collaboration, and capacity to address substance use disorder and homelessness and their impacts on lives and neighborhoods.

About

Philadelphia’s current wellness ecosystem is made up of hundreds of partners who deliver health care, behavioral health services, and housing services to residents. The City’s Wellness Ecosystem Initiative aims to provide a path for people to leave the streets behind, stabilize in their recovery, and thrive.

In January 2025, the Parker Administration officially opened the Riverview Wellness Village (RVWV) in Holmesburg. RVWV provides recovery housing for people who have experienced homelessness and are recovering from substance use disorder. The City has partnered with providers to offer 300 recovery-based beds, in addition to supportive services and activities.
