Shared Safety Philadelphia

Structure

Coordinating Council

The Coordinating Council sets policy and creates a forum for ongoing discussion. Members include public sector and nonprofit leadership, representatives from member organizations, and topical experts. The council is co-chaired by leaders from:

  • Office of Domestic Violence Strategies
  • WOAR – Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence
  • Philadelphia Legal Assistance

Working groups

Short-term projects are completed by working groups.

Current working group projects include:

  • Conference for Children Exposed to Domestic Violence (CEDV). This project is planning a one-day, in-person conference to train counselors and therapists who work with children in the greater Philadelphia area. The conference will share best practices for working with CEDV and aims to increase the current system’s capacity to work with CEDV.
  • Men, Masculinities & Violence Prevention Virtual Summit. This project is planning a one-day, virtual summit about the role of masculinity in relational violence prevention. The summit is for advocates in health and human services to better address gendered norms in services and engage men and masculine people in relational violence prevention.

Email SharedSafety@phila.gov if you are interested in supporting or learning more about any of the working groups. Or sign up for the Shared Safety newsletter to receive updates.
