Germantown Avenue runs through the center of many neighborhoods in North and Northwest Philadelphia, and it’s growing.

The Department of Planning and Development (DPD) is working to ensure that residents, businesses, and builders gain from a shared vision. Public and private investment in the corridor can meet housing needs, save historic buildings, honor culture, and support businesses.

We believe:

  • Businesses can thrive in historic and well-designed new buildings.
  • Residents should connect to programs providing tax relief, home repair, and jobs.
  • Development can make the avenue an easy place to walk and provide parking.
