Market Street Old City improvement project

A Complete Streets project

About

The Market Street Old City improvement project will make multimodal safety improvements on Market Street between 6th Street and 2nd Street. The project includes:

  • Sidewalk-level bike lanes.
  • Concrete bus boarding bump outs.
  • Left turn lanes.

These changes will better serve all street users, whether they are walking, biking, driving, or taking transit. Construction work is anticipated to begin in 2024. The project is expected to be completed in time for celebrations of the country’s 250th birthday in 2026.
