PHILADELPHIA – During the Democratic National Convention, temporary on-street parking for media satellite trucks and microwave trucks will be available within walking distance to City Hall, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Independence Mall, and FDR Park, as follows.

  • Near Independence Mall, parking will be available in the area surrounding 5th and Market Streets.

  • In the area of City Hall and the Municipal Services Building, designated media spots are marked along Broad and Market Streets.

  • Near the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center City, street parking will be available on N. Broad Street past Arch Street

  • At the Stadium District near FDR Park, on-street parking is available near Broad and Pattison outside the United States Secret Service NSSE perimeter beginning noon on Sunday, July 24th

Due to the limited number, and high demand, of these parking spaces, the City of Philadelphia will not be credentialing. Legal spaces will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Outlets should keep staff in or near the vehicles at all time. These spaces are not intended as permanent parking.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority, which is under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will be enforcing on-street, posted parking regulations including meter fees.  Because of the anticipated additional traffic, special attention will be paid to safety violations such as double parking, parking too close to a corner, fire hydrant, crosswalks, etc. Violation of those regulations will result in ticketing and towing.
