10:15 AM Mayor Kenney to Speak at Event Renaming 30th Street Station in Honor of William Gray
The Mayor, U.S. Sen. Robert Casey, State Rep. Curtis Thomas and Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell will join William H. Gray’s son Justin Gray to call on Amtrak to abide by federal law renaming 30th Street Station after the late Congressman Bill Gray. Legislation to rename the station the “William H. Gray III 30th Street Station” was approved by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in August 2014. Since then, Amtrak has taken no action to move forward on the station re-dedication.

2:15 PM Mayor Kenney to Speak at Groundbreaking for Discovery Center
The Mayor, Council President Darrell Clarke, Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., Managing Director Michael DiBerardinis, Parks and Rec Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, State Rep. Donna Bullock and representatives from the Audubon Society, Philadelphia Outward Bound and the William Penn Foundation will speak at this event celebrating the groundbreaking of the Discovery Center, an environmental and leadership education center operated by Philadelphia Outward Bound School and the National Audubon Society. Located on the banks of the decommissioned West Basin of the East Park Reservoir will open the reservoir to the public for the first time in 40 years.
