PHILADELPHIA – In the days after the presidential election, Mayor Kenney called on Philadelphians “to channel your feelings into productive actions that help build bridges and strengthen our communities.” To help Philadelphians find these opportunities for action, the Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Services has created a list of volunteer opportunities available at serve.phila.gov.

“With the influx of inquiries about volunteering we wanted to streamline the process of getting involved,” said Chief Service Office Stephanie Monahon. “All of these programs greatly benefit a lot of people in this City. Even if you don’t have a lot open space on your calendar that brief time you can get involved goes a long way.”

Volunteer opportunities include canvassing for PHLpreK to help inform high-need families of the seats available starting in January, working to support English Language learners, serving with emergency meal sites around the city, assisting with youth literacy programming, and participating in homeless outreach.
