An annual tradition, the MLK Day of Service in Philadelphia focuses on answering Martin Luther King’s call for social justice and action — through strengthening neighborhoods with volunteerism!
This year, Mayor Kenney began the annual MLK Day of Service with the Barrister’s Association talking about the importance of voting, the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the actions of Congressman John Lewis. From there, Mayor Kenney traveled all around Philadelphia to thank volunteers for their service to the city.
Here are eight of our favorite photos from Mayor Kenney’s stops during 2017’s MLK Day of Service.
