Access to pre-K programs is good for kids, their families, and Philadelphia’s future. Right now, there are about 200 seats available across the city in pre-K programs — but families must act now to ensure their child can receive one of these state-funded slots. The state-funded program was recently expanded thanks to Governor Tom Wolf, who signed a stopgap budget to release funds for 1500 additional pre-K seats in January.
Families who meet certain eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply right now. To apply, contact a Center below to confirm eligibility and reserve a slot for your child.
On February 16, Mayor Kenney visited Kai’s Comfy Corner, one of the city’s quality pre-K providers that currently has seats available, and spoke with the employees and kids there. In all, there are over 30 local pre-K providers that have seats available.
The Mayor’s Office of Education has been working with local pre-K providers to identify the locations with available seats throughout the city.
