This year has been full of excitement and success, with a lot of amazing programs happening at our community schools. And now that our community schools finished their first year as designated community schools, the Mayor’s Office of Education wanted to take the time to recognize some graduates who have gone above and beyond to work with their community schools coordinators and help make their schools even better. Students from 6 of our 9 community schools received an award during their graduation ceremony in recognition of their passion for their community and school.
The Community Schools Award is awarded to a student who embodies the spirit of the City of Philadelphia’s Community Schools initiative – a deep appreciation for community, a belief in change and possibility, and a commitment to service and connections with others.
