As we prepare to host the Democratic National Convention here in Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy, it’s a great time for residents, businesses, and visitors to make use of the many digital tools the City offers.

One of the primary ways people in Philadelphia can stay updated on important information is through ReadyPhiladelphia, the Office of Emergency Management’s (OEM) free text-based alert system. With ReadyPhiladelphia, people can choose to receive public safety alerts for up to five different physical addresses.

ReadyPhiladelphia dispatches important information, like mass transit alerts from SEPTA on specific routes you use or weather updates from the National Weather Service.

During the Democratic National Convention, the Office of Emergency Management will publish a ReadyDNC Daily Digest through ReadyPhiladelphia, too.

The ReadyDNC Daily Digest will include the same information as the alert system usually does along with information on public gatherings and marches, DNC-related public events, and other information relevant to both locals and visitors.

All ReadyPhiladelphia subscribers automatically receive the ReadyDNC Daily Digest.
