Wissahickon Gateway Trail Project

The Wissahickon Gateway Trail will provide a 2,000-foot, off-road, multi-use trail and new bike and pedestrian only bridge. This will close a gap in the Schuylkill River Trail that currently forces people walking and biking through a narrow shoulder and sidewalk near a highway on-ramp and busy SEPTA transit center. In addition to improving traffic safety and accessibility this trail will comfortably connect trail and transit users to Main Street Manayunk’s many local businesses, restaurants, and community resources. This project’s investment in healthy active transportation options and access to local businesses and jobs help to build a safer, cleaner, and greener Philadelphia with economic opportunity for all.

Project Highlights include:

  • 2,000 Feet of new off-road, multi-use trail
  • A new pedestrian and bike only bridge across the Wissahickon Creek.
