The Philadelphia City Planning Commission worked with the Fairmount Park Commission and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to update a list of recommended trees and shrubs for use in the landscaping of parking lots. Plants were removed from the list that are now known to be invasive or disease-prone, and plants were added that are particularly well suited to urban conditions.
