Noble Street Bridge Replacement Project

The Noble Street bridge over 13th Street was built in 1892, located between Broad Street and 12th Street. The bridge carries Noble Street roadway and portion of The Rail Park over 13th Street. The Current Bridge has 6 bays. The northern 3 bays belong to Streets Department and the southern 3 bays belong to Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.

This Department of Streets rehabilitation project will:

  • Remove Existing Superstructure from 1st and 2nd bays.
  • Construct a multi steel girder bridge composite with a new reinforced concrete deck.
  • Increase clearance over 13th Street.
  • Install new street lighting for the bridge area.
  • Add and renew pavement markings on Noble St between Broad and 12th Streets.
  • Safety improvements including narrowing roadway, crashworthy barriers, sidewalks connectivity etc.

The bridge carrying Noble Street roadway will remain closed to all users until project completion. Two-way local traffic will be permitted on Noble Street approaching the bridge from Broad Street and from 12th Street. Vehicular traffic detour will be posted during construction.
