The Joint Task Force on Regulatory Reform was created by City Council and the Mayor under the leadership of Councilmember Mike Driscoll who serves as Chair of the City Council Standing Committee on Licenses and Inspections.
After serving as Chair for nearly a year, Councilmember Driscoll heard concerns about the effectiveness of the Department of Licenses and Inspections from many stakeholders both within and from outside of city government.
This report will cover many of those concerns. Acknowledging the changing leadership in both City Council and the Office of the Mayor, Councilmember Driscoll saw an opportunity to recommend real reform to the incoming administrations. This Task Force is the mechanism to accomplish that goal.
