Solid Waste and Recycling Advisory Committee

What we do

The Solid Waste and Recycling Advisory Committee (SWRAC) assists and advises the City on its waste management and recycling plans, policies, and programs. Its members include representatives from:

  • Environmental groups.
  • Civic organizations.
  • Recycling and solid waste industry.
  • City agencies.

The mayor appoints SWRAC members based on recommendations from the Department of Streets commissioner and others. All members have voting rights.

SWRAC holds its general meetings on the third Thursday of every other month. These public meetings begin at 3 p.m.

From time to time, SWRAC subcommittees or working groups meet on a different schedule.
