Each spring, the mayor proposes a budget to City Council. City Council then holds a series of hearings to learn more and ask questions about the proposal. During this time, they also hear public comments.
City Council can change the budget before they pass legislation to approve it. Once they approve the budget, the mayor signs the budget legislation. This process must be complete by the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
