Open Streets: West Walnut
Center City District (CCD), with support from Rittenhouse Row and the City of Philadelphia, plans to transform one of Philadelphia’s most popular shopping and dining destinations, 18th Street from Locust to Chestnut and Walnut Street from 15th to 19th, by temporarily closing streets to vehicular traffic. During these closures, pedestrians will be invited to stroll nearly seven blocks of car-free space while enjoying shopping, dining and activities for all ages. CCD will provide ambient entertainment, including acoustic musicians, dancers and an appearance by the Easter Bunny on Sunday, April 20. Along the 1800 block of Walnut Street, a kid-friendly zone will feature sidewalk chalk, bubbles, games and toys. The cross streets will remain open at select intersections, including 16th Street, 17th Street, 19th Street and the 1700 and 1800 blocks of Sansom Street.
Dates: Every Sunday in April, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20 and 4/27

April 24, 2025All DayEach year, Dining Out for Life returns to cities across the globe — including Philadelphia — to help raise funds for community-based organizations serving people living with or impacted by HIV. Restaurants donate a percentage of their sales from the event to a local HIV service organization, which in turn fills participating restaurants with diners.
This year’s Philly version, the 35th annual, benefits Action Wellness and features dozens of eateries across Philadelphia and the Countryside, including Good Dog Bar, Jack’s Firehouse, Loco Pez, Urban Village Brewing, Stina, Positano Coast and more.

The four-day festival features a jam-packed lineup of happenings inspired by this year’s theme, Love is Love. Be on the lookout for the celebratory opening reception (Friday, April 25, 2025), the Rooted: Wellness Retreat (Saturday, April 26, 2025) and, of course, plenty of parties.
