Grants

The Office of Public Safety fosters safer communities through strategic funding and partnerships with community organizations.

Anti-Violence Community Partnership Grants

The City of Philadelphia Anti-Violence Community Partnership Grants program supports initiatives that address violence prevention, expand community capacity, and target investments that create a lasting impact. Past programs include:

  • Community engagement and outreach events
  • Educational events and workshops
  • Resource fairs
  • Job training and career development
  • Neighborhood and community beautification

Our office administers the grants in partnership with the Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), The Scattergood Foundation, and Equal Measure.

Grant types

The Targeted Community Investment Grant (TCIG) program funds community-based violence prevention programs and activities. TCIG grantees work to improve public safety, increase opportunities for self-development and care, and build a stronger sense of community in neighborhoods most impacted by gun violence. Award amounts range from $1,500 to $50,000.

The Community Expansion Grant (CEG) program funds and supports organizations that reduce violence through trauma-informed healing, restorative practices, safe havens, and mentorship. Award amounts range from $100,000 to $1 million.

For both grant types, special consideration is given for:

  • Projects that operate in the Philadelphia neighborhoods that are most prone to gun violence. (The application will list ZIP codes for these focus areas.)
  • Projects that offer programming for residents ages 16 to 34, especially Black and brown boys.
  • Prior grantees who successfully delivered their programming.
