Office of Integrated Data for Evidence and Action

Facilitating the secure, ethical linkage and use of administrative data to help Philadelphians and their families prosper.

Office of Integrated Data for Evidence and Action

What we do

The Office of Integrated Data for Evidence and Action (IDEA) is a unit within the Managing Director's Office. We maintain the City’s integrated data system, which allows the City to:

  • Link administrative, client-level data across City departments.
  • Link data from other external sources to City data.
  • Perform cross-departmental, interdisciplinary data analysis.
  • Make timely, data-driven decisions to improve policies and programs.

As part of our work, we make sure that individual information stays private and secure. We use the IDEA integrated data system to identify patterns in multisystem program use, costs, and outcomes. Then, we apply these findings to benefit residents. Key system applications include internal analytics, research, case coordination, grant development, and direct outreach.
