WATER TRANSPORT SYSTEM OPERATOR


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is water distribution work monitoring and operating the water supply and transmission system from an electronic load control console on an assigned shift. Work includes interpreting and analyzing data provided by the system and performing the necessary operations to maintain water supply and pressure to the system in light of various outages, water supply quality constraints and unpredictable weather conditions. Identifying abnormalities and operating the water system especially during water supply emergencies are significant aspects of the work. The employee has a controlling responsibility for the operation of the water supply system. Work is performed under the supervision of a technical supervisor.
