AIRPORT OPERATIONS AGENT


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is airport operations work, at a large hub airport, patrolling and inspecting airport air field, landside and terminal areas for specific safety hazards, security breaches and operations and maintenance problems. Employees in this class are responsible for conducting on-going inspections of assigned airport areas to ensure proper adherence to airport rules, regulations, and safety procedures. Employees are assigned to cover designated shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work involves some disagreeable aspects. Work is performed under the supervision of higher-level airport operations personnel.

NOTE:
Employees who have been paid as an Airport Field Attendant for a cumulative period of 18 months will be admitted to compete for Airport Operations Agent positions for the first assessment only.
