DEPUTY CHIEF PROSECUTION DETECTIVE


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is administrative and investigative work directing, through subordinate supervisors, the work activities of a large staff of detectives engaged in conducting investigations of criminal activities and in servicing subpoenas and warrants. The employee in this class serves as second in command to the chief of the investigation staff with responsibility for the assignment and review of work performed by the individual sections. The supervision of a detective force through subordinate supervisors and working with other law enforcement agency officials to coordinate investigations are significant aspects of the work. Work is performed under the direction of the Chief County detective and involves responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the investigative staff of the Office of the District Attorney.
