PROSECUTION DETECTIVE CAPTAIN


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is supervisory law enforcement work overseeing and coordinating the work of a major section composed of several units charged with the investigation of a variety of criminal activities or in the servicing of subpoenas and warrants. Responsibility for the caliber of investigations performed for attorneys is of major significance.

Work is performed under the direction of a higher level legal investigator. Assignments are analytical in nature and are carried out in accordance with accepted investigatory standards and applicable departmental regulations. Employees in this class participate with one another in directing the investigative staff of the Office of the District Attorney.
