INMATE SOCIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is administrative and supervisory work directing the social service, addictive disease treatment, psychological services, educational, recreational, volunteer, vocational, chaplaincy, and closed circuit television programs of the City's prison system. The employee in this class develops and coordinates inmate programs with administrative and security personnel. Planning and evaluating existing and proposed programs and services for appropriateness to the needs of inmates and conforming to legal requirements, professional standards and Prison policies and procedures are of major significance to the work. Work is performed under the direction of the Commissioner of Prisons.
