This is geographic information systems work at the trainee level. Employees in this class learn the principles, practices and techniques required to design, maintain and produce geospatial data and maps. Employees in this class complete a training program that may include attending training sessions, participating in projects and/or other tasks designed to familiarize them with geographical information systems, and the relational databases. Assignments vary in nature and increase in difficulty as the employee gains experience. Work is performed under the direction of a technical superior with geographic information system knowledge and/or experience.
1. The position must be responsible for learning to design, maintain, and produce geographic data and graphics through an automated geographic information system the development and analysis of spatial data layers in a large spatial relational database system, this includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance and complex analysis of digital spatial data to support decision making.
2. The position must be responsible for the compilation and maintenance of geospatial data for use in a geographic information system
