AIR MANAGEMENT ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is supervisory environmental engineering work directing the activities of a staff of engineers in the City's Air Management Program. Employees in this class supervise engineers engaged in investigating sources of air pollution and performing emission and air quality analysis to determine compliance with state and federal air pollution control laws and regulations.

Work involves establishing quality assurance methods and developing and revising operational procedures for air pollution control programs. Conferences with governmental and industrial representatives in order to secure agreement to compliance schedules and resolve complex air pollution control and compliance problems is of major significance to the work. Work is performed under the direction of a higher level engineer.
