Nicetown

In Philadelphia’s Nicetown neighborhood, Air Management Services is especially concerned about two of the six common air pollutants: nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5).

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has defined the average annual acceptable standards for NO2 and PM2.5 based on the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS):

  • The standard for NO2 is 53 parts per billion (ppb).
  • The standard for PM2.5 at 12 micrograms per cubic meter (ug/m3).

The documents below show the average annual values for those two pollutants in Nicetown and the rest of the city.
