Taking a development from conception to completion is challenging. There’s zoning, approvals, and permits. If you’re developing affordable housing, funding can be an issue. Planning and Development can offer help – and sometimes funding – to move your project forward.
Development services
The Division of Development Services offers developers and individuals information about approvals and permits.
The Division of Development Services can:
- Answer questions.
- Give feedback.
- Connect developers with City Staff reviewing their plans.
- Help address new and different issues that come up on complex projects.
It can also help individual projects get through the approval process more efficiently.
Funding for affordable housing development
The Department of Planning and Development’s Division of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) selects partners through Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
If you’re a developer looking for funding to create affordable housing, keep an eye out for the RFPs we usually issue in the fall.
