Bridget Collins-Greenwald holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Drexel University and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Holy Family University.
Bridget took a civil service examination and joined the City as a Management Trainee in the Office of Human Resources in the summer of 1997. After a brief stint developing examinations, she left to work in Human Resources, Budget, Administration and finally, Deputy Commissioner of Operations in the Department of Licenses & Inspections (L&I) where she had been until October of 2010. Bridget then went on to serve as a Deputy Managing Director, working mainly on Vacant Property, Space Allocation, Facilities Management and Land Management Strategies. In June of 2012, Bridget assumed the role of the Commissioner of Public Property, overseeing all City-owned and City-managed property. It is a role she retained from the Nutter to the Kenney Administrations until she was appointed Commissioner of the newly created Quality of Life Division of the Department of L&I.
In her role in Public Property, Bridget was responsible to fulfill the vision of providing safe and habitable conditions in City-owned facilities for government operations and public access. The Department of Public Property is responsible for the maintenance of 150 City-owned facilities and the capital improvements for every City-owned facility, including Police, Fire, Fleet, Health, Libraries, and the Zoo. In her role as the Commissioner of the Quality of Life Division Bridget will build on the department’s successes and create a positive, dedicated and innovative team that will deliver on Mayor Parker’s vision of a “Cleaner, Greener and Safer City with Economic Opportunity for All.”
A lifetime resident of the City of Philadelphia, Bridget has two children, and a five year old grandson. Bridget grew up in the Tacony section of the city, where she attended St. Leo’s grade school and St. Hubert’s Catholic High School for Girls. She serves as the Secretary of the Board of her high school and is a member of their Capital Campaign Committee. Bridget is also one of a handful of Certified Adjunct Teachers for the City of Philadelphia, facilitating the Elevated Leadership Excellence curriculum. Bridget currently resides in the Northeast’s Pine Valley neighborhood.
