The City of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation will host the official Arbor Day 2025 Celebration at Mifflin Square Park (500 Wolf Street, 19148) on April 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon. This year’s Arbor Day celebration will highlight the park’s community-driven revitalization project, Making Room for Everyone. Arbor Day is a nationwide observance that encourages individuals and groups to engage in activities that support and promote the health of trees.

Launched in 2019, Making Room for Everyone seeks to create a more inclusive and welcoming space that reflects the diverse community of South Philadelphia. The event will feature a proclamation recognizing Philadelphia’s 49th consecutive Tree City USA designation—one of the longest-running Tree City designations in the nation—as well as a tree planting, eco-friendly activities, and discussions on urban forestry and sustainability.

This free, family-friendly event invites community members, students, and families to join in a meaningful day of environmental action. See more details about the event online.
