Great news for Philadelphia-based life sciences companies! Did you receive a Phase 1 or Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant from the federal government in 2022 or later, to chart a path toward commercialization?
You may be eligible for additional funding through the Philadelphia Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) matching grant.
This is the only City-led SBIR/STTR matching grant program of its kind in Pennsylvania.
The application deadline is June 20, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Selected applicants will receive customized technical and business assistance from a suite of services provided by the Philadelphia Department of Commerce’s implementation partner.
Phase 1 applicants are eligible for up to $20,000 of services, and Phase 2 are eligible for up to $50,000 of services to advance company growth. Selected services and budgets will be reflective of the company’s stage of commercialization and the market needs for each technology.
This matching grant program is administered by the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, Office of Business Development.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants must:
- Be located in Philadelphia.
- Be a life sciences company.
- Have received a Phase 1 or Phase 2 federal SBIR/STTR grant from the federal government in 2022 or later, to chart a path toward commercialization.
