PHILADELPHIA — The Mayor’s Office of Philly Stat 360 released a new housing dashboard today, keeping track of the City’s initiatives to support housing in Philadelphia. Philly Stat 360’s new housing dashboard tracks eight high-level metrics related to housing, including the total number of rental units and affordable housing units. It also shows participation in the City’s programs designed to help low- and middle-income Philadelphians stay in their homes, covering the cost of critical repairs and modifications to keep their homes in good condition for years to come. These programs include the Basic Systems Repair Program (BSRP) and the Adaptive Modification Program (AMP).
Coming soon after Mayor Cherelle L. Parker announced her breakthrough H.O.M.E. Plan to build, preserve, and restore 30,000 units of housing, the new housing dashboard on the Philly Stat 360 website is a critical way to track progress on that goal. Philly Stat 360’s easy-to-understand website gives Philadelphians a government that every resident can see, touch, and feel. Each metric includes charts and graphics to help show how the program is making a difference in Philadelphia. Each metric also includes resources to help residents enroll in the programs and get the help that they need.
The housing dashboard showcases not just the high-profile programs the City supports, such as the Turn the Key program, which supports the development of “affordable luxury” homes, but also the behind the scenes efforts taken by departments to make important inroads on creating generational, neighborhood-rooted wealth in the City, like the Tangled Title program, which helps provide clear title to residents that oftentimes have been responsible for a home for many years but were not listed on the deed. This program also helps clean up the city’s records, reducing the chance of deed fraud, and provides a pathway for residents to obtain mortgages and access other repair programs like BSRP and AMP.
Philly Stat 360’s new housing dashboard will be regularly updated to show the Parker Administration’s progress on the H.O.M.E. plan.
“The Mayor’s H.O.M.E. plan brings together many City agencies and offices working towards a common goal of improving housing in Philadelphia,” said Kristin Bray, Director of Philly Stat 360. “The new housing dashboard shows that collaborative nature, offering Philadelphians a central website to show progress on the Mayor’s goal of preserving, restoring, and building 30,000 units of housing.”“The H.O.M.E. plan is a data-driven strategy designed to address our city’s most pressing housing challenges. It will create opportunities for growth, stability, and wealth-building across all neighborhoods and income levels,” said Jessie Lawrence, Director of Planning and Development. “Philadelphians deserve access to a lens that demonstrate the outcomes of our progress.”
“The H.O.M.E. Initiative is a game-changer for Philadelphia — a $2 billion commitment to create and preserve 30,000 housing units across every income level. This initiative ensures that no matter your financial situation, you have access to safe, quality housing in our city,” said Angela D. Brooks, FAICP, Chief Housing and Urban Development Officer. “By balancing new development with preservation, homeownership opportunities, rental assistance, and neighborhood revitalization, we’re building a Philadelphia where everyone can find their place to call home. This comprehensive approach is what truly makes H.O.M.E. revolutionary for our city’s future.”
