Philadelphia, PA- The Selection Panel for the Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) will host an additional public meeting to introduce a new proposed Commissioner candidate for the final vacancy on the Commission, gather community feedback and answer questions.
The Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) oversees and monitors the conduct, policies, and practices of the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD). The commission works to increase the transparency and accountability of the PPD, improve police conduct, enhance the quality of internal investigations and improve the relationship between the community and the police department. Commissioners will play a crucial role in supporting CPOC’s mission to:
• Improve police conduct by ensuring accountability and transparency.
• Enhance the quality of internal investigations to build public trust.
• Increase communication and engagement between the community and the Police Department.
Public Meeting Details: The public meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions and provide feedback on the new commissioner candidates. This is a key moment for public participation in shaping the future of police oversight in Philadelphia.

Selection Process and Panel: The selection process for the new Commission candidates was led by a Selection Panel composed of civic and community leaders, with three appointees from City Council and two appointees from the Parker Administration. The Selection Panel members are:
• Anton Moore – President and Founder of Unity in the Community and Commissioner on the Advisory Commission of African American Affairs (Mayoral Appointment)
• Stanley Crawford – Founder/CEO of The Black Male Community Council of Philadelphia (Mayoral Appointment)
• Bilal Qayyum – President of the Father’s Day Rally Committee (Council Appointment)
• Christina Vega – Community in School Coordinator and Domestic Violence Advocate (Council Appointment)
• Caroline Stack – Director of Legislative Affairs for Councilmember Curtis Jones Jr. (Council Appointment)
Proposed Commissioner Candidate:
• Ericka Stewart (14th Police District) – Ericka L. Stewart is a steward of many talents and insightful experiences. Stewart remains a native to Philadelphia and calls the neighborhood of Mount Airy her home. As a social entrepreneur, a warrior of Complex PTSD, and also a Central High School graduate of the 263rd class, Stewart prides herself as a resilient person of lived experience. Stewart is currently a Community & Economic Development Supervisor for Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association. She is also the owner and founder of Everyone Love Someone, a social impact consulting firm.
