The City of Philadelphia launched the Corridor Enhancement Grant, a fund that contributes to neighborhood economic development and vibrant commercial areas.

The application deadline is April 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

The Corridor Enhancement Grant supports community-serving nonprofits dedicated to enhancing the appearance, safety, livability of business districts in the neighborhoods they serve. The goal is to increase foot traffic, attract new businesses, promote available commercial real estate and a sense of community. Applicants are encouraged to submit projects that enhance the “look and feel” of their local commercial areas.

Eligible organizations can apply for an award amount of between $10,000 and $40,000 to complete their project. The Corridor Enhancement Grant is a program of the Department of Commerce.

Program Briefing

The Corridor Enhancement Grant program briefing will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. The briefing will include Q&A from attendees.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a community-serving nonprofit organization located in the City of Philadelphia.
  • Creative and innovative ideas are highly encouraged.
    • Examples include but are not limited to:
      • Events and festivals such as night markets, block parties, corridor parades, and clean-up initiatives.
      • Placemaking and beautification efforts such as public murals, gateways, and art installations, activate unused or underutilized public spaces on commercial corridors.
        • Projects that will require the approval of private property owners or City agencies must describe how they will get the needed approvals within a reasonable timeframe. If your project will be on privately owned properties that your organization does not own, we need to receive a letter of approval. Click this link to search for a property owner. 
      • Programs and activities, such as workshops, opportunities for training, and education for community leaders and businesses

Note: The Corridor Enhancement Grant cannot fund the staffing or operations of private security forces and the purchase of vehicles. This grant does not subsidize business security cameras.
