The Law Department is excited to announce an update to our leadership team – Ji Jun, former Chief of the Regulatory Unit, will oversee the Corporate & Tax Group as the new Group Chair. In this role, she will supervise five units specializing in Tax Litigation and Collections; Property Assessment, Boards, and Commissions; Regulatory Law; Real Estate and Development; and Commercial Law.
Ji joined the Law Department as counsel to the Airport in 2006 as a new law school graduate after deciding during her summer internship that this is where she wanted to work. Since then, she has handled a wide range of legal matters advising clients across the City.
As the Chief of the Regulatory Law Unit, Ji led a team of 21 attorneys across four divisions – Airport, Water, Environmental, and Right-of-Way and Utilities. She was responsible for overseeing various commercial transactions, real estate matters, regulatory compliance and enforcement, environmental counseling and litigation, airport law, utility law, energy law, board counseling and rate cases.
Before that, Ji was Divisional Deputy City Solicitor in the Water Division for two years after having served as in-house counsel to the Water Department for over 13 years where she handled all legal matters supporting the utility’s business operations. Ji is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University School of Law.
Congratulations, Ji! We are excited to have your leadership in this new role.
