PHILADELPHIA – Ahead of the anticipated winter weather event, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker and the City of Philadelphia advise motorists to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm and exercise caution when driving.

Today, the Streets Department crews will pre-treat major roadways to help prevent ice from forming a bond with the roadway surface during the early stages of the storm. When needed, the City will have up to 200 pieces of equipment on the streets to ensure that all neighborhoods are addressed in the event of a major storm.
