The Office of Clean and Green Initiatives and the Department of Sanitation are continuing Mayor Parker’s One Philly, United City Cleaning Initiative by introducing twice-a-week trash collection. The program is set to launch Monday December 2, 2024, in the boundaries of Callowhill Street to Pattison Avenue, between the Schuylkill Expressway (30th Street) and Delaware Avenue. Phase 2 of the program will expand to more areas in fall 2025.

Residents within these boundaries will be permitted to set out up to 8 bags, 4 containers, and 2 household compactable items per collection. Recycling services will remain once a week, with recyclables collected on the first trash day of the week only. Residents are reminded that mixing recycling with trash during the second collection is prohibited, and fines will be issued if recycling materials are found in set-out trash.

The schedule for twice-a-week collection is as follows. There will be NO second collections during a holiday week.

1st Collection Day
(Regular Collection Day)
2nd Collection Day
