Next month marks the three-year anniversary of the signing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). In these first three years of the BIL, the City of Philadelphia has been awarded more than $620 million in discretionary grants to fund critical infrastructure projects like Bridge Sustainability in Northwest Philadelphia and Complete & Safe Streets Philadelphia: Vision Zero High Injury Network Corridors project.
Earlier this month, the City celebrated the official reopening of Montgomery Avenue Bridge, marking the completion of the first major Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funded project in Philadelphia.
To commemorate the anniversary of the BIL, the City of Philadelphia’s Infrastructure Solutions Team (IST) is releasing maps showing where BIL investments are happening in Philadelphia. Be sure to check out the informational flyer and map to see what BIL projects are happening in your City Council district.
About the Infrastructure Solutions Team (IST)
The City is utilizing historic levels of funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to create a safer, cleaner, and greener Philadelphia with access to economic opportunity for all. The City Infrastructure Solutions Team (IST) was established in 2022 to capitalize on this once-in-a-generation federal investment, while also advancing racial equity.
Particularly, the IST is tasked with ensuring that investments from the BIL grow generational wealth for Philadelphians, especially people of color who have historically been excluded from opportunity. To ensure the impact of the BIL is felt by all Philadelphians, the IST has established a two-pillar approach, focusing on equitable workforce and diverse business participation.
