WHAT: Members of the Philadelphia Fire Department (PFD) and American Red Cross will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature on the 4400 block of Bleigh Avenue in Holmesburg, where a fatal fire occurred earlier this month.

The PFD has installed more than 3,800 smoke alarms so far this year. If you need smoke alarms, request them via Philly 311 and the PFD will come install them for free. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, you can request an adaptive alarm.
