Philadelphia — The Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) would like to thank Jamison Rogers CPOC’s inaugural Director of Investigations, for his service and leadership. Jamison Rogers recently left the agency to join the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office as Chief of Staff. During his tenure, Jamison demonstrated exceptional dedication, integrity, and commitment to upholding justice and ensuring accountability for Philadelphians.

We are incredibly grateful for the significant contributions Rogers has made to CPOC. His direction and expertise have been invaluable, and he has set a high standard for those who follow in his footsteps.

We wish him all the best in his new role and are confident that he will continue to excel and make a positive impact.

We are pleased to announce that Chief of Investigations Nicholas “Nick” Kato will be assuming the role of Director of Investigations.  CPOC is excited about this new era in investigations and is confident that Nick will continues to build the unit up to fulfil an important role in oversight.

Kato brings extensive investigative knowledge and experience to the role of Director of Investigations. Kato was a staff investigator for the Defender Association in Seattle for five years, where he investigated criminal cases on behalf of indigent defendants. He continued that line of work for the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, where he investigated criminal cases on behalf of individuals who were convicted of crimes they did not commit. After graduating from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2019, Kato was a litigator practicing in the white collar/internal investigation field.

Since joining CPOC, Kato has overseen several police shootings and is actively working to expand the Investigation Unit’s investigation program.
