Did you know Philadelphia has low-cost summer performing arts camps, sports camps, and neighborhood day camps for city youth?
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation offers a variety of art camps including Intro to Performing Arts Camp for youth ages 6 to 11 years old and Young Performers Theatre Camp for youth ages 11 to 18 years old.
There are five sites for the 2024 Introduction to Performing Arts Camp:
- Hawthorne Cultural Center–1200 Carpenter Street, 19147 (South).
- Holmesburg Recreation Center–4500 Rhawn Street at Dittman (Northeast).
- ML King Recreation Center–2101-35 Cecil B. Moore Avenue, 19121 (North).
- Myers/ Universal Daroff Charter School–5630 Vine Street (West).
- Waterview Recreation Center–5826 Mcmahon Street, 19144 (Northwest).
Young Performers Theater camp is held at Venice Island Performing Arts Center, 1 Rector Street, 19127.
Parks & Rec also hosts a Visual Arts Camp at Fisher Park, 571 W. Spencer Street, 19120.
Besides our performing arts and visual arts camp, we also have sports-themed summer camps. Some focus on a specific sport, like basketball. Others introduce campers to different sports including baseball, football, hockey, and more.
In addition to our theme camps, we offer low-cost neighborhood summer day camps. While many summer camps are filled to compacity, the day camps listed below are currently registering youth.
