PHILADELPHIA — Today, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker’s appointments to the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) and the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) Board of Commissioners were approved by City Council.

Mayor Parker’s appointees bring a wealth of knowledge, diversity, and lived experience that will enable their respective boards to operate at full strength, with better efficiency and effectiveness for the City of Philadelphia and all its citizens.

“I want a zoning board that functions more efficiently, so that developers and small businesses can find a prompt and fair resolution of their cases,” Mayor Cherelle L. Parker said. “The Philadelphia Housing Authority is one of the largest providers of affordable housing in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, and I’m proud of the appointments to PHA’s board approved today by City Council. These are important steps towards our goal of 30,000 units of housing in Philadelphia.”

With a full complement of ZBA members, coupled with legislation regarding quorum rules for the board, the goal is for a Zoning Board that functions more efficiently and processes cases in a way that ensures that developers and small businesses alike are heard in a time-efficient manner under the Parker administration.
