Looking for a summer job? Working as pool maintenance attendant (PMA) is fun and rewarding! It’s a great way to spend your summer poolside while earning a little extra cash. PMAs help keep City pools healthy, clean, and in sparkling blue condition all summer long.
Requirements:
- Be a resident of Philadelphia.
- Have good customer service skills.
- React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Able to stand for long periods of time in 90+ degree temperatures.
- Be 18 years old or over.
PMAs are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized pool area. They assist visitors and ensure that all pool regulations are followed.
Pool Maintenance Attendants must:
- Ensure swimmers wear proper pool attire.
- Count participants in pool to keep everyone safe.
- Record attendance on a hourly basis.
- Skim the swimming pool.
- Brush the pool interior to remove dirt on walls.
- Vacuum the swimming pool.
- Check the pool filter.
- Test the water chemistry (check the levels of chlorine, pH, and alkalinity in the water.)
- Sweep and clean area around the pool.
Pool Maintenance Attendants are paid $15 a hour. Candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week. Schedules may change depending on the needs of the facility. Employment dates are early-June to mid-August.
