It’s time to show your park some love! Spring is here and volunteer registration is open for Love Your Park Week 2024. From Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 19, more than 100 Philly parks need volunteers to help:
- Plant flower bulbs.
- Tend trees.
- Collect leaves for compost.
- Prepare for the busy summer season.
Here’s everything you need to know about the event:
What is Love Your Park Week?
It’s a nine-day spring celebration of Philly’s parks. Volunteers come out to their neighborhood park and lend a hand.
Who runs Love Your Park Week?
Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation host Love Your Park week. It is a collaboration with more than 130 neighborhood-based volunteer groups. These groups are part of the Park Friends Network. They work together to make our public parks vibrant, inviting, and active public spaces.

Why should I volunteer?
You will be making a difference in your neighborhood by creating a “safer, cleaner, greener Philadelphia.”
It’s a great opportunity to get outside and meet your neighbors.
Spending time in nature is good for your mental and physical health.
What if I can’t attend but want to help?
You’ll be missed, but don’t fret! There are many opportunities to support Philly parks year-round:
